Daydream Raises $15M to Build an AI-Native Agency for SEO

$15M Series A, $21M Total Raised

daydream, an AI-native agency for organic search, has raised a $15m Series A led by WndrCo, with First Round Capital and Basis Set Ventures also participating. The round brings its total funding to $21m and will go toward hiring, product development, and go-to-market expansion.

Agents Plus Experts, Not Agents Instead of Experts

Most SEO tools tell you how you're showing up in search. daydream is trying to close the gap between that observability and actually doing something about it. The model has three parts: a framework it calls the daydream method, covering seven levers of organic growth from keyword strategy to AI visibility; SEO agents that execute at a pace no traditional agency team can match; and a human Growth Lead assigned to every account, responsible for strategy, quality, and outcomes.

"We're bringing world-class SEO expertise, paired with agents, to every high-growth company and enabling maximum velocity in one of the most complex marketing channels to master," said Thenuka Karunaratne, CEO and Co-Founder of daydream.

Co-Founder and CTO Shravan Rajinikanth frames the bet as a response to how fast search itself is changing: "Most companies are still optimizing for a version of search that no longer exists. We're building agents that can think, strategize, and execute everything a senior SEO practitioner can, and do it at the speed and scale that the age of generative AI demands."

Investors Are Circling the AI-Native Agency Category

WndrCo General Partner ChenLi Wang put the bet plainly: the teams that solve organic search in the age of AI will have an unfair advantage, and daydream is positioning itself to help them get there. It's not an isolated call. Y Combinator's Request for Startups for Spring 2026 ranked AI-native agencies third among the categories it most wants to fund, right as the traditional agency model comes under pressure from both AI search disruption and clients asking why they're paying for headcount instead of outcomes.

What It Means for Marketing

The AI-native agency isn't pitching itself as a cheaper version of the same service. It's pitching a different delivery model entirely, agents for execution and scale, humans for judgement and accountability. That's a more specific claim than most "AI-powered" agency messaging, and it's one the market is now pricing in.

For marketing leaders evaluating agency partners, the question is shifting from "do they use AI" to "where exactly does the agent stop and the human start." daydream's answer, agents for the seven levers of execution, a human for strategy and outcomes ownership, is a template worth watching as more of the agency market tries to make the same claim.
