$10M Series A, led by Openspace Capital
Hong Kong’s Omnichat has closed a US$10 million Series A. Openspace Capital led the round, and Darwin Ventures and Acorn Pacific Ventures came in alongside it.
More than a shared inbox
If you haven’t come across Omnichat, it’s a platform for brands that sell and support customers through messaging apps. Most tools in this space just pull chats into one inbox, but Omnichat puts marketing, sales and customer service on a single customer profile and can attribute revenue back to the conversation, even when the purchase happens in a physical store. It works across WhatsApp, LINE, Facebook Messenger, Instagram, WeChat, KakaoTalk and TikTok, which covers most of how Asia shops over chat.
The agents are getting used
The money will go into Omni AI Agents, a suite the company launched this year. The marketing agent can build customer segments and write a full messaging campaign from one prompt, and the sales agent recommends products and takes the order without the customer leaving the chat.
What stands out is how quickly brands have picked these up. About 300 brands were using OmniClaw, Omnichat’s AI business analyst, within two months of its June launch, and the number of brands on the Marketing Agent tripled over the same period.
Founder and CEO Alan Chan framed the raise as the company’s shift “from conversational commerce to AI-driven commerce”. The plan is to scale the platform, put more into R&D, and take it beyond Asia Pacific.
What It Means for Marketing
In a lot of markets, WhatsApp and LINE are where customers actually talk to brands, yet campaigns there are often still built by hand. If an agent can segment an audience, write the messages and close the sale in the same thread, the CRM team’s job starts to look quite different. It’s worth keeping an eye on how well that holds up once Omnichat moves into Europe and the US, where messaging habits aren’t the same.
